Odochi Ibe, iEG social media coordinator
New York City is one of the main vegan hubs in the country; whether or not you want a veggie burger or a donut, the big apple has it. During my raw detox, it was easy, since I could still go out to eat with friends or grab lunch from one of the many raw restaurants around the five boroughs.
Quintessence
Quintessence is great for a sit down dinner with close friends or a significant other due to its soft lightening and quaint interior. With its limited seating, the food comes out quick, while still being a delicious meal. If you’re in the mood for Mexican, make sure to order the Mexican plat, you won’t believe it’s raw!
Seasoned Vegan
When you think of vegan soul food, raw lasagna and burgers may not be on your list, but that’s what makes Seasoned Vegan so magical. You can come and enjoy their delicious home cooked meals even when you’re eating raw. They have several mouth-watering options that’ll have even the biggest comfort food lover feeling satisfied.
Peacefood Cafe
I’m a newbie when it comes to Peacefood, but so far everything I’ve had has been delicious- raw or not. They have an extensive menu of cooked and raw dishes, make sure to try the cheesecake!
Champs Diner
The love affair with this place goes deep. Come here to gorge on comfort foods like bananarama pancakes and mac ‘n cheese, but don’t underestimate their salads! I’m not one to generally order a salad for dinner, but they’re a hefty meal that’ll leave you full. Although there aren’t many items listed as specifically raw, you can substitute what you want in the salad to suit your needs.
Where do you go to have your favorite vegan meal in your city?
